Alexandra Perry

With over 20 years of experience, I am still passionate about the effectiveness of Integrative Counselling, which tailors different approaches depending each client's differing needs. When Anxiety, Depression, Low Self-esteem, Trauma and Loss can start to feel overwhelming I can help to process these feelings and find helpful coping strategies.

Personal Touch

I believe that feelings are all normal under the circumstances, but they can feel isolating, confusing and that no one could help. No feelings are wrong, but sometimes they can lead us to make unhelpful choices. With a background of complimentary therapies I have come to understand how our emotional functioning can have a profound effect on our physicality too. To feel at ease within our selves is the key to a happier future .

Background

I qualified with an NCFE diploma in Integrative counselling 20 years ago. In that time I have worked for Counselling Plus Comminity (CPC) A counselling charity. in Hastings and am still there once a week. I have worked as a Counsellor in Hastings College through CPC and as a counsellor and assessor . I have accreditation with CRUSE a Bereavement organisation. I also have a private practice in Eastbourne at my home address. I specialise in Trauma and Sexual abuse plus depression , anxiety and self-esteem issues. I use relaxation and calming techniques alongside Cognitive Behavioural Therapy when appropriate.

Therapy Approach

I provide a safe, friendly and non-judgemental environment to confidentially explore and process difficult thoughts and feelings, As an Integrative counsellor, I use such therapies as Person Centred, Transactional Analysis, Transpersonal, Gestalt, Cognitive/ Behavioural Therapy and relaxation, it is important to find out what is helpful and what is not, in an honest and open way. By developing a trusting relationship between clients and myself, positive ways forward can be achieved.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Integrative or Holistic Therapy

Neuro-Linguistic Programming

Neuro-Linguistic Programming involves analyzing strategies used by successful individuals and applying them to reach a personal goal. It relates thoughts, language, and patterns of behavior learned through experience to specific outcomes.

Transactional Analysis

Transactional Analysis is a form of modern psychology that examines a person’s interactions and communications to identify and improve upon dysfunctional patterns.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy combines cognitive behavioral techniques with mindfulness strategies in order to help individuals better understand and manage their thoughts and emotions.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation refers to the process of providing education and information to those seeking or receiving mental health services, such as diagnoses, treatment options, and coping strategies for dealing with mental health.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic Therapy emphasizes looking at the whole individual and stresses concepts of free will, self-efficacy, and self-actualization to help people lead more fulfilling lives.

Person-Centered Therapy

Person-Centered Therapy, developed by Carl Rogers, emphasizes a non-directive, empathetic approach that empowers and motivates the client in the therapeutic process.

All sessions are 50 minutes in duration. I charge £50 for individuals and. £60 for couples You can pay cash at the time of the session Alternatively by bank transfer a day before the session or at least before the session starts. I will give you the details at the time of booking a session.
