Professional Counsellor
Hello, My name is Fiona. I am a person-centred counsellor with a warm, relaxed approach. I feel passionately about helping clients to embrace their individuality and worth, and I appreciate the unique needs, values, and preferences of every individual. I support people in developing their own strengths and abilities to lead more authentic and fulfilling lives. I believe that by embracing one’s true self, individuals can achieve a greater sense of happiness. My approach is holistic, considering all aspects of your well-being. People seek counselling for many reasons. No issue is too big or too small. I offer a non-judgemental and confidential space where you are free to explore anything you choose at your own pace. I have worked with various organizations specializing in counselling for bereavement and loss, including Cruse Bereavement. In these roles, I have supported individuals in processing, navigating, and finding meaning after loss. I also specialise in supporting survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, regardless of gender. I offer a warm, welcoming, non-judgmental space where you can share as much or as little as you want at your own pace. All emotions are welcome; there is no right or wrong way to process these experiences. My interest in all areas of trauma continues to grow and expand and I continually undertake extra training in this field. Childhood trauma can follow you into adulthood and impact all areas of life. This type of trauma can manifest in various ways, including difficulty in forming healthy relationships and struggles with self-esteem and self-worth. I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate these complex issues, supporting them to heal and move forward. Family and relationship trauma can also have a profound impact on our mental health, and these experiences can bring about depression, anxiety, stress, as well as an altered sense of self. By providing a space where individuals can talk about their experiences, my approach helps to create a space where you can process and make sense of your emotions. Whatever brings you to therapy, from psychological distress to maintaining well-being, I offer a welcoming and inclusive space for all.
