I’m a person-centred counsellor and member of the BACP with experience in anxiety, depression, social anxiety and low self-esteem. I enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds including members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I have also found that my calm and grounded style fits well with those who have experienced early trauma. I like to work at the pace of my clients, to build a strong therapeutic relationship so that they can feel safe and supported to explore their past, present and look to their future
Personal Touch
I believe that everyone can benefit from counselling; whether it's to look at a specific trauma, work with current anxieties or work out where you want to go in life. I hope that I can help you to do that in a way that's tailored to what you need and at a pace that feels good to you.
Client Focus
Early trauma can affect the way you see yourself now, as an adult. It can affect how you interact with people and with the world around you. I can help you to explore these feelings in a space that is entirely for you; where there is no need to hide or pretend. You will be accepted and understood.
Background
I trained in Person Centred counselling at the University of Strathclyde and first saw clients as a volunteer at PF Counselling in Edinburgh. I set up my private practice at the Edinburgh Counselling Studio five years ago. I have since trained as a counselling supervisor and have recently applied for accreditation.
When I'm not counselling, I work for COSCA (Counselling and psychotherapy in Scotland), so you know that you are in safe hands.
Therapy Approach
Do you feel you have to put on a face in the morning so that the people around you can’t see how much you’re struggling? If you can identify with this then maybe the time is right for you to seek counselling. I can offer a space that is entirely yours for you to express your feelings without fear of being judged, talked over or disbelieved.
Therapy explained
Person-Centered Therapy
Person-Centered Therapy uses a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions.
