Professional Counsellor
I am an experienced integrative counsellor accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP (Accred). I am also qualified as Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders and as an EMDR therapist.
I feel passionately about working in collaboration with and empowering clients in the best way possible to move forward in life, supporting you to find resolution to whatever difficulties are troubling you which have brought you to counselling. You may require just a short term number of appointments or long term open ended sessions.
Over the years I have observed how anybody can be affected by traumatic life changing events at any time. Often we do not seek help until reaching a point where we feel so overwhelmed we recognise that something needs to change.
In my experience people who attend for counselling have a wide range of expectations and needs. Counselling can help to build confidence and self esteem, reduce anxiety, find new meanings and understanding of ourselves and our lives, improve communication in relationships; reduce the power of past issues, and help you to feel more in control. You may have a specific problem for which you are seeking help, or you may just have a vague sense of unease that something is troubling you.
I offer face to face appointments during office hours in Wellington, Chard and Exeter as well as offering online appointments to clients anywhere in the UK
I am an experienced integrative therapist and EMDR therapist. This means that I can draw on a wide range of different modalities of counselling according to what is most appropriate for your individual needs.
I am accredited with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and trained in EMDR with the EMDR Academy

Integrative or Holistic Therapy combines practices and theories from various therapeutic approaches to fit the needs of the individual client.
Person-Centered Therapy uses a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions.
Attachment-Based Therapy is focused on building or rebuilding trust and centers on the relationships and bonds between people, particularly lasting psychological connectedness between humans.
Relational therapy is based on the idea that mutually satisfying relationships with others are necessary for one’s emotional well-being and that problems in these relationships can cause mental health issues.
Solution Focused Brief Therapy is a goal-directed collaborative approach to psychotherapeutic change that is conducted through direct observation of clients’ responses to a series of precisely constructed questions.
