Welcome. I’m Julia, an integrative counsellor who believes in creating a space where people feel safe, understood, and accepted. I work with children, adults, and couples, offering therapy that is tailored to your individual needs and experiences. I am trained in EMDR and support clients in gently processing trauma, difficult emotions, and life challenges.
I offer sessions face-to-face, online, and by telephone, allowing flexibility to suit your circumstances and comfort. I work at your pace, listening carefully to your story and building a trusting therapeutic relationship. With experience across the NHS, schools, and charitable organisations, my aim is to help you feel supported, empowered, and less alone as you move towards healing and greater wellbeing.
My journey into counselling began with a desire to understand and alleviate emotional distress. I hold a foundation degree in counselling, a Diploma in Child Counselling, training in Couples Therapy for Depression, and am trained in EMDR. My experience spans schools, charitable organisations, and the NHS, where I have worked as an IAPT counsellor supporting adults and couples with a range of mental health difficulties.
I work integratively, tailoring therapy to each client while offering a safe, non-judgmental space to explore thoughts and feelings. I am committed to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice, with the aim of supporting individuals, couples, and children towards healing, resilience, and self-discovery.
EMDR is an interactive psychotherapy technique used to relieve psychological stress. It is an effective treatment for trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Integrative or Holistic Therapy combines practices and theories from various therapeutic approaches to fit the needs of the individual client.
Transactional Analysis is a form of modern psychology that examines a person’s interactions and communications to identify and improve upon dysfunctional patterns.
Psychodynamic therapy focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in a person’s present behavior, with the goals of self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behavior.
