Mandy Jack – Professional Counsellor

she/her

First and foremost, I am a warm, friendly, down to earth, 'come exactly as you are' human being. Alongside this, I’m an Integrative Counsellor, which is a fancy way of saying I’m trained in a variety of ways that allow me to support you in the way that works best for you individually.

Some of the work we do together could include looking at how your past is influencing your present and then supporting you to make the changes you'd like to see in your life.

Personal Touch

I trained to become a counsellor having felt the benefit of being truly heard and understood as a client myself. I deeply value the trust and openness that comes with finding the right therapist and I welcome every part of who my clients are, especially the parts they feel they need to hide from other areas of their life, as they’re often the parts of ourselves that need the most care and help to heal.

Client Focus

I have worked with both young people and adults over the last few years, but now work exclusively with adult clients aged 18+. I have  experience in a number of areas including Anxiety, Depression, Domestic Abuse, Coping with Life Changes, Low Self-esteem, Relationship Issues, as well as Grief & Loss.

I also have a particular passion for supporting people struggling with Pet Loss and Bereavement. As a lifelong animal lover myself, I care deeply about providing a place where this life changing loss can be supported with the sensitivity, importance and respect it so deserves. Please see the dedicated  page for more information.

Background

My training includes;

CPCAB Level 5 PQ Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (studying currently)

BACP Certificate of Proficiency

CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling

CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills (Person Centred)

CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Studies

I also have regular Supervision and CPD training, ensuring I remain informed,

up to date and able to offer my clients  the best support I possibly can.

Therapy Approach

My Integrative approach has a Person Centred foundation, which offers empathy, no judgement and honesty every step of the way. From there, depending upon your needs, our sessions could draw on Attachment Theory, which can help you identify  and take control with patterns in your relationships, or Psychodynamic work that usually looks at how your past experiences play out in the present.
I also offer creative ways to explore and uncover how you really feel and to help empower the true you.
