Nicholas Lovelace – Professional Counsellor
he/him
A real character with a compassionate edge that offers you the potential to step into relationship with yourself.
I don't cut the mould of a stereotypical counsellor which for me breaks down some of the barriers that might exist.
I believe my approach offers the difference between real life struggle and change.
Personal Touch
My approach to counselling is the existential approach which incorporates philosophy and human understanding in order to create a space for you to discover what life's meaning is for you.
I am also writing a book which brings these ideas under an understandable umbrella of terms so many can utilise the treasures of my professional and personal journey so it can be implemented for others.
Client Focus
I have been working with people for decades so I have learned how to work with all age groups.
I perhaps look a bit rough round the edges and this helps some clients step towards me because I have an edge about me.
Background
I have worked as a counsellor for around 15 years,
I have worked in education for over 20 years as a lecturer in many fields including counselling.
I have also worked extensively with neurodiverse conditions such as ADHD and Autism.
Therapy Approach
My counselling style is the existential approach with a flair of psychodynamic thinking.
Therapy explained
Existential
Existential therapy focuses on free will, self-determination, and the search for meaning—often centering on you rather than on the symptom.
