Richard Hall – Psychotherapist

I am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist offering both online and in person sessions. You may be struggling with a specific issue or pattern of behaviour and know already what you would like to talk about. Alternatively, you may simply be feeling down and low and need support with processing your feelings and emotions. Counselling may be able to offer a fresh perspective, or support you to make changes needed to get you to a better place. I work with people from all backgrounds, in a range of areas. I  have worked closely with male issues and have experience working with gender diversity and LGBT+ issues.

Background

My approach is client driven, starting with an initial consultation to check that we are a good match and to ensure that my experience level meets your needs. I offer a space to talk and discuss current and past events. I am very open minded, non-judgmental and happy to talk about difficult or challenging issues.
I offer a complementary consultation of up to 30 minutes. This is an opportunity to get to know me and to allow me to gain a little more detail from you, to ensure that I have the skillset to work with you. There is no obligation to take forward counselling following a consultation.

Therapies explained

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a treatment focusing on changing negative patterns of thought and behavior to address psychological issues. It is known for its effectiveness in treating a variety of mental health conditions.

Brief Therapy

Brief Therapy centers on specific problems and direct intervention, offering solutions within a short period.

Emotionally Focused Therapy

Emotionally Focused Therapy is designed to address distress in the intimate relationships of adults.

Integrative or Holistic Therapy

Integrative or Holistic Therapy combines practices and theories from various therapeutic approaches to fit the needs of the individual client.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is designed to address the needs of children and adults with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other difficulties related to traumatic life events.

Attachment-Based Therapy

Attachment-Based Therapy is focused on building or rebuilding trust and centers on the relationships and bonds between people, particularly lasting psychological connectedness between humans.

Behavior Therapy

Behavior Therapy is a broad term referring to psychotherapy, behavior analytical, or a combination of the two therapies. It is focused on increasing the patient’s engagement in positive or socially reinforcing activities.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation refers to the process of providing education and information to those seeking or receiving mental health services, such as diagnoses, treatment options, and coping strategies for dealing with mental health.

Person-Centered Therapy

Person-Centered Therapy, developed by Carl Rogers, emphasizes a non-directive, empathetic approach that empowers and motivates the client in the therapeutic process.

Pricing

Sessions are charged at £70 per 50 minute session. Couples counselling is charged at £90 per 1 hour session. I offer a limited number of reduced fee slots for students and those on low income.
