Personal Touch

As ever expanding people in an ever changing world, things are never static. Learning to let go, trust in yourself and enjoy the small things is the quickest route to satisfaction.

Client Focus

People are unique and they experience their worlds according to what they have witnessed. What they have witnessed often becomes their truth and that truth becomes something they defend when challenged. 
When this happens they can feel they are not seen or heard and often misunderstood. 
When they are in this experience they often shut down and feel shame, self blame and guilt. These feeling can lead to a life time of inner isolation and fear of rejection and this is something I help people break free from. It’s life changing and works no matter your age of gender. 
I mostly use Havening Techniques as it’s quick, simple and very effective. 

Background

Beginning way back in 2003 whilst embarking on my degree I began my professional journey in counselling. I detoured into fostering for 18 years enjoying my life as a foster parent whilst also using my counselling skills and developing them further. Over the years I have amassed many qualifications in many modalities including CBT. Hypnotherapy. NLP & Life Coaching and Mindfulness Techniques. As well as Couples and Family Therapy along with Child and Adolescent Counselling I am a qualified Grief and Bereavement Counsellor too. I am also qualified in Psychosensory Therapies such as Havening Techniques and EMDR plus Autogenic Training to name a few. My most recent qualifications are in Breath Work Mastery. 
Formal training to me is self development and self development is self care and because of learning to care for myself, learning about how my brain- body- mind connection works I am better able to help people in a more integrated way. 

Therapy Approach

Being qualified in so many different therapies I am able to create individual experiences for you. I am client led and this means everything from a holistic therapeutic point of view is about you. As we go we can explore what is really behind the reasons you are finding life difficult. We won’t spend time looking solely at the symptoms you are navigating but the cause too and often it’s thus that Havening can eliminate in just 12-15 minutes! 
Havening Techniques is my favourite therapy. It is quick, effective and permanent. If you are suffering from any trauma related symptoms Havening would be my number one choice. 

Therapies explained

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a treatment focusing on changing negative patterns of thought and behavior to address psychological issues. It is known for its effectiveness in treating a variety of mental health conditions.

Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)

Interpersonal Therapy focuses on improving communication patterns and how they influence a person’s mood and relationships.

EMDR

EMDR is an interactive psychotherapy technique used to relieve psychological stress. It is an effective treatment for trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Eclectic

Eclectic therapy integrates various therapeutic approaches and techniques to fit the needs of the individual client.

Existential

Existential therapy focuses on free will, self-determination, and the search for meaning—often centering on you rather than on the symptom.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming

Neuro-Linguistic Programming involves analyzing strategies used by successful individuals and applying them to reach a personal goal. It relates thoughts, language, and patterns of behavior learned through experience to specific outcomes.

Attachment-Based Therapy

Attachment-Based Therapy is focused on building or rebuilding trust and centers on the relationships and bonds between people, particularly lasting psychological connectedness between humans.

Person-Centered Therapy

Person-Centered Therapy, developed by Carl Rogers, emphasizes a non-directive, empathetic approach that empowers and motivates the client in the therapeutic process.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in a person’s present behavior, with the goals of self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behavior.

I am client led meaning what you bring will help us decide what is best for you in any given session, or what you would like to achieve in your next.
