Therapy Approach

I offer three areas of work separately or in combination with each other: 1. Individual therapy 2. Couples therapy 3. Family therapy My work is based on Systemic Psychotherapy and within this I use methods including Narrative, strengths-based, emotionally focused and attachment informed therapies. I am registered with the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFSP) and United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I receive regular clinical supervision and engage in continuous professional development. In individual, couples or family sessions I focus on the context of relationships past and present to identify your strengths as well as difficulties. I practice in an evidence-based way drawing on my practice and master's level educational experiences. I am collaborative and work alongside you and we can agree the frequency of our sessions and how many are needed. These may be face to face or online or a combination of both. I provide a safe space for us to explore and express strong emotions and at all times I work with the rich diversity of lives based on such areas as gender, race, ability, religion and sexuality. We can establish goals and review progress at regular intervals. I offer a free 15 minute telephone conversation to see if we are a good match for therapy. I work flexibly, for example when working with a couple I might work individually with one partner and work with different family members as required. I create a warm and supportive therapeutic relationship which aims to hear everyone's voice in a non-judgmental space where confidentiality is provided in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
