Professional Counsellor
"I am a highly seasoned and accredited counsellor, bringing 15 years of invaluable experience from various demanding roles within the NHS. This extensive background has not only provided me with a robust clinical foundation but has also deeply instilled a pragmatic, compassionate, and solution-focused approach to mental health support. My time in the health service has equipped me to work effectively with individuals facing significant stress, crisis, and complex emotional challenges, ensuring that my clients receive support that is both deeply empathetic and grounded in real-world resilience."
When I step away from my practice, I find my balance and perspective thanks to my two family Beagles. They are constant, boisterous teachers of the power of unconditional positive regard and the necessity of simple, consistent routine—principles that are central to successful therapy.
For an essential mental escape, I'm an avid fan of football. The game is a perfect metaphor for the therapeutic journey: it involves strategic planning, perseverance through setbacks, and the resilience to get back up after a tough moment. This helps me maintain the grounded, focused energy I bring to every session."
I offer a blend of professional credibility and genuine understanding. I am committed to providing adults with support that is grounded in real-world experience, highly ethical, and ultimately focused on empowering you to build the resilience and self-awareness needed for a healthier, more balanced life.
I am an experienced counsellor dedicated to helping adults navigate significant emotional and psychological challenges.
My practice is centered on providing practical, focused support for those struggling with these core areas:
Anxiety: Whether you experience persistent worry, social anxiety, or panic, I work with you to understand the roots of your anxiety and develop concrete, lasting strategies to regain a sense of calm and control.
Depression: I provide compassionate support for those experiencing feelings of hopelessness, low motivation, or profound sadness. We will collaboratively explore the factors contributing to your depression and work toward renewing your energy and engagement with life.
Anger Management: We would focus on developing healthier emotional regulation techniques, understanding the underlying triggers, and transforming reactive outbursts into constructive communication and self-control.
My counselling practice is built on a robust foundation established over 15 years within the demanding, yet deeply rewarding, environment of the NHS. This extensive service has given me a deep understanding of human resilience, the complexities of crisis, and the absolute necessity of compassionate, practical support. I have honed my skills in high-pressure settings, learning how to remain grounded and focused when individuals are facing their most difficult challenges.
