Claudine Swinton-Lee – Psychotherapist

she/her

Hi there - I am a qualified and professional psychotherapist with 17 years of experience behind me. I like to think I practice in a grounded and down to earth way and try to make sessions as relaxed as possible. I am very lucky to have met with many different people wanting help with a broad spectrum of symptoms and problematic patterns of behaviour.

Personal Touch

Before training to become a psychotherapist, I trained as an actress at a London drama school. I had numerous roles in many different jobs to support myself over the years - one of these working as residential support worker in a children's care home - during which I discovered a new direction in life. In my spare time I like to walk my dog, go to gigs, work on my running (work in progress) and enjoy time with friends and family as much as some 'down' time alone. Own personal projects at present are training in EMDR and saving for my own horse (which has been a lifetime dream)

Therapy Approach

I hope to facilitate the opportunity to verbalise uncomfortable thoughts and feelings in a private, non-judgemental environment.

In gaining an understanding of why certain thoughts happen, and how they effect you, we can break the repetitive and destructive patterns of behaviour that we so easily fall back into however hard we try not to. Self-knowledge allows us to choose a path and a future, as opposed to being helplessly swept along and carried into negative ways of thinking/behaving.

Clients often tell me that sessions have served to 'join the dots' and 'reverse the engine' in their lives, and that talking with me in sessions was much easier then they had anticipated.

(Please visit my website for a more detailed explanation of how I practice and what to expect from our sessions together)
