Cornetta Williams Walker – Psychotherapist

she/her

Hello, I’m Cornetta Williams Walker, a Clinical Supervisor, Psychotherapist, and Trainer with more than twenty years of experience. My work focuses on developing services and supporting professionals in health, legal, and community sectors. I specialise in trauma, sex addiction, bereavement,  systemic family interventions, and parental alienation.

In our sessions, we will typically:

  • Explore your unique experiences and challenges.

  • Discuss strategies for resilience and coping.

  • Work collaboratively to develop tailored solutions.

  • Focus on building a supportive and trusting relationship.

  • Engage in reflective practice to enhance your personal growth.

I aim to create a warm and engaging environment where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we can navigate your journey towards healing and growth.

Personal Touch

Outside of my clinical and leadership work, I embrace life with joy and curiosity. I enjoy travelling and exploring different cultures, connecting with people through food, art, and music. These experiences help me understand how others live and celebrate life.

In our sessions, we will typically:

  • Foster an environment of honesty and connection.

  • Explore personal experiences that shape your perspective.

  • Emphasise resilience and compassion in our discussions.

  • Approach challenges with warmth and strength.

  • Encourage growth by stepping outside of comfort zones.

As a Black British, neurodivergent woman and mother, my lived experiences, including those of growing up in care and navigating challenges with mental health and addiction, inform my practice. I believe that growth occurs when we face challenges with courage and determination.

Client Focus

I work with clients who have complex and overlapping needs, particularly those related to attachment injury, trauma, addiction and historical family disruptions. My focus is on individuals in recovery who are not actively using.  I aim to support behaviour change, reduce isolation, and promote confidence.

In our sessions, we will typically:

  • Explore the impact of past experiences on current behaviours

  • Address issues related to bereavement, separation, and loss

  • Work collaboratively to develop coping strategies

  • Foster a supportive environment for personal growth

  • Utilise my lived experience to enhance understanding and connection

I strive to create a safe space for clients to explore their feelings and experiences, helping them navigate their unique challenges.
