Jean williams – Professional Counsellor

A very warm welcome. My name is Jean Williams, Accredited Counsellor.

Do you often experience feelings of anxiety, confusion, or entrapment? Are you currently going through a difficult phase in your life?

We all may wish to live a life free from anxiety, confusion, death, tears, and fear. Unfortunately, regardless of our race or gender, this is not the reality for the majority of us.

Life presents us with various challenges, including bereavement, grief, loss, bullying, self-esteem issues, anxiety, stress, depression, relationship difficulties, family dynamics, and work-related problems, among others. These are all hurdles we may face during our life journey.

Every person can encounter hard times, and it can be difficult to turn these experiences into a solid foundation for the life we aspire to lead.

I am a fully qualified and accredited Counselling Professional. My career has consistently involved working with individuals, which has enabled me to cultivate skills over many years. My mission is to assist you in uncovering your potential and to provide support in identifying the essential tools for your development and growth, all while working at your pace.

Personal Touch

I recognise that taking the first step into counselling can be intimidating. Having experienced my own difficult trials, I sought professional help and learned that no problem is too small or overwhelming. My aim is to create a comfortable and supportive environment for you.

In our sessions, we will typically:

  • Explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe space.

  • Work together to identify your goals and challenges.

  • Develop strategies to manage your situation effectively.

  • Foster a trusting relationship built on care and respect.

  • Encourage open communication throughout the process.

I believe that seeking support is a courageous step. I hope to provide you with the same care and support that has stayed with me throughout my journey.

Client Focus

My main belief is that as a counsellor, my job is to help clients build healthy coping skills in a caring and understanding environment, enabling them to manage life's challenges effectively. Integrative means I have training in a wide range of methods and can tailor your therapy to suit your needs best. I find it very logical to combine different techniques and theories in my counselling work, and I tend to focus on person-centered, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic approaches. I also find grounding and mindfulness strategies helpful. With my background in Coaching skills, this will be part of my practice.
Since everyone is unique, I believe these theories and methods provide a strong base for helping my clients move towards their life goals.
