After the demo

What happens when you turn your profile into a website

Your website starts from your Counselling.Network profile. The demo lets you try the idea safely. No payment, publishing or domain changes happen from the demo. When you choose to continue, the turn-on process guides you through review, domain connection, payment and publishing.

The journey

From temporary demo to your own live website

The steps are designed so a counsellor can understand each decision before anything is saved, charged or published.

Profile, services and fees become website sections you can review before publishing.
  1. 1

    Create or sign in

Create a Counselling.Network profile, or sign in to the one you already use. Your website is built from that profile rather than from a blank technical website builder.

  2. 2

    Review the generated website

Check the preview for your about section, services, session fees, FAQs, testimonials and contact prompts. You can adjust the theme and sections before committing.

  3. 3

Activate when the preview is ready

Review the configured £15/month website plan before checkout. Cancelling checkout does not remove your saved draft.

  4. 4

    Choose your web address

Use an included Counselling.Network address with no domain changes, or choose to connect an existing domain you own. You stay in control of when an existing website is switched.

  5. 5

    Connect and check the address

If you choose an existing domain, My Website generates the one real website record for your account. Add only that record, then use Check connection. There is no separate ownership-record step in the current service.

  6. 6

    Review and publish

Publishing is a separate confirmed action. It remains blocked until the preview is approved, the website plan is active, and the address opens securely.

Domain setup

How the DNS change works

DNS is the setting at your domain registrar that tells visitors where your website lives. For most counsellors, this means signing in to the company where the domain was bought and adding the records shown in Counselling.Network.

We never show made-up example records here. The exact record is generated for your website only after you approve the preview, activate the website plan and choose to connect an existing domain. We do not host your email, and the instructions do not ask you to change mailbox records.

Domain verification confirms the website is connected before it goes live.

Included address

Choose an available Counselling.Network address and let us prepare it. You do not change any domain settings.

No domain-provider login required

Your existing domain

My Website displays the exact website record generated by the live domain service. Copy only the type, host and destination shown there.

Values are shown securely in My Website

Someone else manages it

Send the exact instructions to your web designer, IT contact or domain provider, or ask Counselling.Network for help. We never need your password.

Instructions can be emailed after confirmation

Email stays with your provider

We do not host your email. Keep your MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records with your current email provider unless you deliberately change email provider separately.

Email hosting: no mailbox migration required

Propagation time

Some changes appear in minutes. Some registrars can take up to 24 to 48 hours to update everywhere.

What happens once the domain is verified

HTTPS is enabled

The connected website uses a secure HTTPS address before it is treated as ready for clients.

You preview before publishing

You can review the final website and make profile updates before visitors are sent to it.

You publish deliberately

Publishing is a separate action. The temporary demo cannot publish a real website.

Future updates come from your profile

Profile changes can keep the website aligned, so you are not maintaining a separate website tool.

Billing stays clear

The current £15/month website plan is shown before activation. The demo never triggers payment.

Cancellation is controlled

If the website subscription later ends, the website should be suspended gracefully rather than deleting your profile content.

Ready to explore

Start with the safe demo, then turn it on when the preview makes sense.

The important thing is that your website is not a generic hosting product. It is your own professional counselling website, built from the profile clients already use to understand your practice.
