A new way to explore counselling profiles with AI

Counselling Network Sep 07, 20263 min read
We've added a new way for supported AI assistants to explore Counselling Network, helping people browse public counsellor profiles while keeping the choice of who to contact in their hands.

Finding a counsellor is a personal decision. Before getting in touch, people often want to understand who you work with, where you offer support and what your approach feels like.

We've introduced a new feature that gives supported AI assistants a clearer way to search our directory and read public profiles when someone visits Counselling Network with an AI-enabled browser.

What could this look like?

Someone might ask their assistant: “Help me find counsellors in Stamford who work with anxiety.”

On a supported browser, the assistant can search Counselling Network, bring back matching profiles and read more about a counsellor the person wants to explore. They can then open the profile, get a fuller sense of the practitioner and decide whether to make contact.

This is about making the information on your profile easier to explore. The personal connection between you and a potential client remains at the heart of the process.

What does it mean for your practice?

You don't need to install anything or learn a new system. The feature uses information from eligible, published profiles, so keeping yours clear and up to date is the most useful step you can take.

It's worth checking:

  • The locations you serve and the ways you offer sessions.
  • The issues you work with and the people you support.
  • Your description of your approach, written in your own voice.
  • Your published fees and availability information.

A warm, accurate profile helps people understand your practice however they arrive at it.

Your work stays personal

These new tools read public profile information. They don't access private account or billing records, send enquiries or make bookings.

They also don't assess someone's needs or decide which counsellor is right for them. People can use the information to explore their options, then speak with you about whether working together could be a good fit.

An early step, now live

We've tested both search and profile reading on the live site. Support for this kind of browsing is still developing, so it won't be available through every browser or AI assistant yet. It doesn't guarantee extra enquiries or higher search rankings, and people can continue to use our usual search as before.

We're pleased to be taking this practical step towards making Counselling Network easier to explore as browsing habits develop.

If you haven't reviewed your profile recently, this is a good moment to give it a fresh look. A few thoughtful updates can help it reflect the practice you offer today.
