Kevin Gallagher – Counsellor Therapist

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, have a mind going round in circles or mabye struggling with relationships, you don’t have to face it alone. Together, we can uncover what’s happening inside and find a way forward into more calmness and confidence.

Personal Touch

I have faced my own difficulties and understand how it feels to be overwhelmed by thoughts and emotions. My journey has taught me that we can break free from this cycle and find a path towards greater confidence and peace.

In our sessions, we will typically:

  • Explore your feelings and thoughts in a safe space.

  • Identify patterns that may be holding you back.

  • Work together to develop strategies for moving forward.

  • Foster a sense of self-awareness and understanding.

  • Encourage personal growth and resilience.

Client Focus

I work with adults of all ages in a face-to-face way. People come to me with issues such as:

  • Anxiety, stress, overthinking, just feeling stuck or lost
  • Relationship and family difficulties
  • Issues rooted in past experiences
  • Cultural or multicultural family challenges
  • Issues around religion or spiritual abuse
  • Life transitions, identity questions or confidence issues

You can talk freely here without pressure or judgement. Together we can make sense of what is going on inside.

Background

After 3 years of academic and practical studies as well as my own personal counselling, I obtained a BACP accredited Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling. Since then I have accumulated hundreds of hours of direct face to face client experience. I am fully BACP registered: registration number 410848.

Therapy Approach

I offer in-person counselling in Southampton and Fareham. The most effective work happens face-to-face in a safe, grounded environment.

In our sessions, we explore both:

  • What is happening in your life right now
  • How past experiences may still be shaping how you think, feel and relate today

Understanding these connections allows for deeper and lasting change, not just short-term coping strategies but a genuine shift in how you experience yourself and your life. Counselling will not attept to rewrite the past but it will change how it is affecting life now.

Therapy explained

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in a person’s present behavior, with the goals of self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behavior.
