Welcome to my Counselling network profile. I am a trained and qualified counselling therapist working with adults, children, teenagers and young people.
I am warm, caring and genuine in my approach. I do understand that starting counselling can be difficult and a trip into the unknown for many people - I am happy to put you at ease and to show you that counselling and therapy really aren't scary.
If you decide to try working with me, I will offer an initial session where we can talk through what you want from your sessions.
My aim always is to support you in dealing with difficulties, helping you explore yourself, the dynamics around you and any factors that are getting in the way of your happiness, to help you resolve any conflicts and areas of difficulty. I do this in a gentle, investigative way, helping you challenge, explore and ultimately achieve your aims.
I work integratively, using all of the main theoretical disciplines, including person-centred, Solutions-focusses, trauma informed, CBT, DBT and psychodynamic models and I adapt my approach specifically to suit each person and their needs. No two people are the same!
I offer a flexible approach, with single-session, short/fixed term and open-ended/longer-term therapy. I feed back on progress often, and review regularly with you how the counselling is progressing. We work towards an ending together when that is appropriate.
I have specialism and a lot of experience of working with adults, children and those affected by neurodivergence, including ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and those with with specific learning difficulties and special needs.
My other specialism is in working with LGBTQIA+ and those in Poly, and other kinds of relationships. I also work with people who have long term or terminal illness.
