Karin Usher – Psychotherapist

I work with women who’ve survived childhood abuse/neglect, and sexual assault. Women who’ve spent years holding it together, often in silence. Therapy is a space where you don’t have to do that anymore. You don’t have to explain away your pain or minimise what you’ve been through. We go at your pace, in your way, with support that helps you feel safer, more connected, and more like yourself again.

Therapies explained

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic Therapy focuses on individual potential and stresses the importance of growth and self-actualization.

Integrative or Holistic Therapy

Integrative or Holistic Therapy combines practices and theories from various therapeutic approaches to fit the needs of the individual client.

Person-Centered Therapy

Person-Centered Therapy uses a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions.

Attachment-Based Therapy

Attachment-Based Therapy is focused on building or rebuilding trust and centers on the relationships and bonds between people, particularly lasting psychological connectedness between humans.

Humanistic Therapy

Humanistic Therapy emphasizes looking at the whole individual and stresses concepts of free will, self-efficacy, and self-actualization to help people lead more fulfilling lives.

Person-Centered Therapy

Person-Centered Therapy, developed by Carl Rogers, emphasizes a non-directive, empathetic approach that empowers and motivates the client in the therapeutic process.
