New for counsellors: PPS-9 client check-ins
We are pleased to introduce PPS-9, a new check-in tool for counsellors on Counselling.Network. It offers a simple way to open a conversation about people-pleasing patterns, boundaries, guilt and the pressure to put others first.
The questionnaire asks nine questions about experiences over the past two weeks, followed by a question about how much difficulty those experiences have caused. A score out of 27 provides a starting point for reflection. PPS-9 is not a diagnostic test, and no score can replace a conversation with your client or your professional judgement.
How it works
Open Tools → PPS-9 in your counsellor portal and choose Create New. Give the session a neutral label, with no client name or identifying details. You can set an expiry date or a maximum number of submissions. The Share panel then provides a short code, a direct link and prepared email or WhatsApp options. Share the code or link privately with your client.
The client can complete the check-in on their own device. Once they submit it, your results view shows the score and a dated list of responses. If you use PPS-9 more than once, you can look at the pattern over time and discuss what has changed, in the client’s own words. Keep session codes and responses confidential.
See the real screens
Our short video walks through session setup, sharing, the client form and the results view. It uses a disabled demonstration code and a test response rather than a real client result. To try PPS-9, sign in and open Tools → PPS-9. You can find more tutorials under For Counsellors → Video guides.
